instillation error

I've been trying to install ASC 9 beta 3 onto my desktop, but shortly after running the instillation program, it gives me an error saying: "the source file is corrupted"

What site did you download the installer file from?

Download from Here and see if you still have an issue.

Again I ask....which site did you download the installer from.??

Did you download the new installer from the site I gave you, and if so did you try it??

oops, forgot to mention that. I have tried the site that you linked me to, and that's the installer that gave me the error. I've also tried to installer from the Iobit's update web link directed from ASC 9 Beta 2 (which I've uninstalled.)

You are giving very little information as to what exactly the sequence of events was, that caused your issue.

The error message indicates that there is a problem with your C++ files, which most likely occurred due to a Registry change.

You should run a full virus scan to ensure there is no virus issues.

Then the easiest thing to do is to do a system restore back to a time before the issue occurred. This should repair the C++ issue.

You can the try the installer again.

okay, thanks. I'll try it once I get the chance to. As for the sequence of events, I don't even have the slightest clue. The desktop I'm trying to install the program on has not been used in months and I've just recent started using it again, so I do not know.

I just tried the installer you provided, Cicely, and I got the "the source file is corrupted" error when I attempted to start the installer up.

Then double click to run this tool and click “Save report to Desktop”. You will get a zipped file IObit_Debug_Info.zip on your desktop, please send it to us so that we can get the detailed information to look into.

Did you try my suggestion in post #6 to do a restore to correct a possible C++ issue.

If you have a C++ issue (which sounds more and more likely) then trying different installers will not help.

Whoops, sorry. Anyways, I deleted all of the files stored in the %temp% folder and I also relocated the default download folder to a new location and moved it back. Either or both of those methods fixed the issue.
