False Positive on Hewlett Packard Support Solutions preinstalled software [SOLVED by db 1580]

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have no clue why the Malware Fighter 3.4 Free detected the HP Support Solutions software that came preinstalled on my Compaq Presario CQ60 laptop [i bought the laptop over 10 years ago], nothing else out there detects it as a Trojan virus, it ought to not be since HP wrote the software to troubleshoot/diagnose/repair issues with their computers! Here's my log:

Here's the Wikisend link [is only good for 7 days]: http://wikisend.com/download/946576/HC_SREnable.exe

HP Support Solutions Framework page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/h...ssistant_cc/dt

You might need this because the file the Malware Fighter is detecting is a piece of the overall HP Support Solutions Framework software that is located inside a zip folder in it's install directory.

Please remove the HP Support Solutions Framework from the Malware Fighter detection, it is not a Trojan, malware, rogueware, or anything else malicious. It is a tool HP designed to help their customers with HP updates, account and warranty information, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and remote assistance from their service techs, which I have personally used to receive remote help with a bad driver issue from their service techs and a repair when the screen got broken.
