If you are using AWC definition database 37248 dated 5/7/2007, it does not need to update as of today now GMT 15:00 hours.

After installing a new version, you should update to a newer database.

The database in the setup file is always an older one.

 

New version of AWC, when installing, will ask if it should uninstall the older version automatically.

It is better to let AWC do that if you want to keep your adjustments from the older version.

Also:

I advice to let AWC to create a system restore point when it asks if it should create one, just after the installation.

I got confused when it didn't came up saying no update was available like it usually does and came up with the download link to the new version of the program. I didn't realise that it was only because no update was available.

 

I intended to try out the new version anyway but hadn't got around to installing it yet.

After first scan, "Privacy Sweep" does not show any problems but it only finds them after re"Scan".

 

By the way, I think the word "Rescan" is better on the "Scan" button after the first scan as you have used it before in the old versions. It was giving you the information that you have already scanned once.(Specially if you have closed the AWC application)

The only change needed is one word in English.lng as before.

This behavior is not specific to the new versions.

 

Also, I repeat my request that you put the version build numbers near the links you supply for the setup files.

i seem to have the same problem since i downloaded 2.4 officel but i dident have any probs with the beta.xp pro nonsp2 because m/s says my reg key has expired,go figure.when ifirst got online i got whacked really hard with the bagle virus & i manuley deleted a lot of stuff until i could get back online.i am also running avira antivir p.e. classic& suprantispyware, oterthan that awc is the best thing i've done & i recomend it to anyone that will listen.thanks for a great product.

Can't Register Pro Version

 

I cannot get the Registration to accept my Name and Key , have tried everything I can think of ( which is not very much ) and can't get it to function . Have Uninstalled the Personnal version , Rebooted , installed Pro version and Rebooted again after it would not Register . My version is 2.3.0.758 , will try and download / install version 2.4.xxxx .

Registration Problems

 

Have installed version 2.4.xxxx AWCv2Pro , still can't get Registration to accept my name and / or Key . Running Windows XP Pro with SP2 and all Microsoft updates installed . If anyone else has had this issue and fixed the problem , please let me know how to Activate Pro version , had to go back to Personnal Version for now as the new Pro Version does not repair anything until Registered .

You can contact customer support on iobit.com, or you might PM Tim Xue here on the forum with description of the problem with user name & key (DO NOT POST IT ON THE FORUM!)

Either should be able to fix it.

P.S. - I am curious where you downloaded the AWC Pro from. If you download from Iobit the current version is 2.51.

Thanks Samr , have figured it out . Where the Registration Process asks for a Name , it actually wants the e-mail address used to register product . Went back to IOBit Site and logged in , looked at my Registration Info and what I thought was just a confirmation of my e-mail address is actually the User Name for Registration Purposes . Had already tried every combination of name I could think of and instead of using Key also tried using Order Confirmation Number which of course did not work .
