Hello everyone,

I have said I’m krissy, a lovely girl from IObit. But I am not the one can solve many technical problems. I must confess that I just join in IObit last month; I am also a newbie in software.

So many times I was on the forum, looking at these questions, but do not know how to deal with them. Also there are many experts in this forum. One time I think I had a chance to answer one question, but every time they are faster than me.

Garybear, I must apologize to you, but please do not feel despair with IObit, It’s my work to forward your questions and suggestions to our IObit Product Specialist Team for further investigation, but I didn’t do that well. I have read many posts of yours, knowing your grown-up in this forum, so I hope you also can give me a chance and more time to do a better job, ok?

From now on, I will not just reading the posts in this forum; I try my best and do my best to discuss with you, although sometimes most of you may feel that I am ignorant.

Please like IObit, like this forum, and like me…

Hi Krissy

You are refreshingly honest, - so you have a lovely personality at least

As for me - I find like the blind hen a corn once in a while, but I am by no means an expert.

You are very welcome here at the forum, just the screening of which questions go to the specialist team is a very good function.

Thank you Krissy!

Cheers

Negotiator

Hi Krissy,

You are sounding very modest, I believe you will be very usefull in the Forum.

You will make a good Negotiator.

How about passing the problem in this_thread and the problem which is also confirmed by me and JustDave in that_thread to IObit and enlightening us about the reason and also if there is a solution.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Hi Krissy,

You're already showing three of the most important characteristics of a good customer service rep; honesty, professionalism, and the ability and willingness to communicate. The technical stuff will come. Welcome again!

Hi All,

Thanks for your support! I think i should be a helpful girl but not be a destroyer. maybe sometimes there is a problem (I didn't find), Please remind me of that! anyway you could use, I will not be scared of that!

Garybear, I don't need to save face, because I don't think I have lost face to say that to you, all from my heart! Now I am your friend, don't let me alone....

Hi Krissy

No loss of face in my opinion either.

An open and honest personality is a great asset!

Even if your avatar depicts a sleeping beauty (I understand the joke)

I find that you are wide awake!

Sorry again . I used wrong terminology [ lose face]. YOU have proven your self with honesty. I will keep my comments to my self from now on, and not be such a loser. I only wanted to make you feel better because I thought I had made you feel bad. I'm always putting my foot in my mouth. Sorry again krissy. I just wanted you to know I respect and honor you and your people, and now I'll shut my big mouth.[garybear]

r u a smart girl?test...

Hi krissy,

u r really a honest girl,that's good.

lovely!!!!!

But ,i do not know if u r a smart girl also, here comes a test, can u give me an answer?

Your goal is by burning the rope(s), to identify when exactly 1 hours and 15 minutes has passed. All you know about the ropes is:

1),The ropes are of different length and you don't know how long they are.

2),Each rope burns in precisely 1 hour.

3),Each rope has a non-uniform density, meaning it is thicker at some points than others. Consequently, burning half a rope cannot be guaranteed to take 30 minutes.

lol

I saw Krissy on last evening and she didn't reply. So...

I love those kind of things... riddles and such, however, we are in the day of the internet and if someone just Googles Each rope burns in precisely 1 hour they will find an answer quickly

Hi Valuater, Hacken,

Krissy here! I am not disappeared, just because these days I was flooded with much work.

I agree agree with Valuater, someone should give a test that can not find a answer on internet. That would be a real test for the intellegence.

Anybody could take part in, and enjoy it!

Ok All

I'll pose a problem:

Mr. Jensen met his old math-teacher Hansen in the steet one day, he hadn't seen him since leaving school.

They struck up a conversation: It's been a long time, Jensen said.

How are you!

Fine! I now have three children, said Hansen.

How old are they Jensen responded.

I seem to remember that you were fond of mathematical problems Hansen answered, so I'll give you one.

The product of my childrens age is 2450, and the sum is the same as the age of the reverend Nielsen.

They said goodbye and Jensen went home to figure the problem out, but he got stuck and called Hansen, I need some more information, he said.

Yes Hansen answered, I forgot to tell you that you are younger than my oldest son. Ok, Jensen answered and gave the solution to Hansen.

AND now comes the question: How old was Jensen?

Enjoy!

Cheers

Long live solbjerg.:-)

I know this is not the correct answer, but how about if reverand Nielsen was 64, then the oldest son could be 50 and the other twins each 7 (considering Hensen married second time.:-P), and Jensen being anywhere between 25 and 49. (not knowing that the twins were born when he was in high school.):lol: And of course Hensen would be somewhere above 68. (taking into consideration he was 19 when teaching).

That fits the given criteria, doesn't it? Ha ha ha.

It reminded me Mr. Spok in Enterprise series, saying to captain Kirk, "I don't know the answer, there is not enough data captain."

Have a great weekend.

Cheers.

Thanks enoskype

Just reading the story makes you realize that the reason he calls Hansen is because he has found more than one solution that adds up to the age of reverend Nielsen.

And to answer the final question one realizes that there can't be more than one year between the two solutions for the eldest son, - if there were it would be impossible to answer.

But you are on the right track.

Cheers

How about that?

The other alternative is that Reverand Nielsen could be 76, oldest son 49, Jensen between 25 and 48 (not younger than second child) (In That case, Hansen could have been married 3 times, since he has a child of 2 years old.:-P)

Otherwise, Reverand Nielsen is 64, oldest son 49, other children 5 and 10, (Jensen between 19 and 48 )

I would say, Jensen is 49, oldest son 50, twins 7, reverand 64. He couldn't know the children's ages if he was 48 or under. and he would not be just one year younger!

Hi enoskype

Everything is derived from logic and the number 2450 which is of course 2*35² or 2*5*5*7*7

Jensen will of course know the reverend's age or at least be able to find out. (and by using logic - so will we)

A bit surprising that it was Jensen's age that was asked for, right?

Hi solbjerg,

Yes, asking the age of Jensen is unexpected, and at first it seems ridiculous.

Thanks for your editing of (and he would not be just one year younger!), but you have not pointed out in the problem that Jensen is one year younger, only younger. :!:

Am I missing something?

cheers.

Yes enoskype you are, if he was more than one year younger (part of the logic you apply to the story) both possibilities would still be there and the question would be unanswerable.

If Jensen was 48 or less he would not be able to decide the age of the eldest son.

Hi again,

I do mean that, but I don't understand, why

He couldn't know the children's ages if he was 48 or under.

does not imply that.

Hi enoskype

Jensen knows how old he is himself, right? (natural assumption)

So in order to choose the right option of the two there is, that both yield the same sum, he can only be 49 (that means that the two youngest sons are twins - oldest 50)

48 would not solve his dilemma (the reason he called Hansen)

Is this explained clearly enough?

Cheers

And to continue this topic of difficult posers:

The barman said to Paddy: "Paddy, my mother had a child and it wasn't my brother or my sister, who was it?"

After thinking for several minutes Paddy gave up. "Who was it?" he asked.

"It was me," replied the barman.

After a few more drinks, Paddy staggered home and told his wife he had a riddle for her. "My mother had a child and it wasn't my brother or my sister, who was it?" he asked.

"I don't know", said his wife, "who was it?"

"It was Harry the barman down at the pub," replied Paddy.
