It appears that the version downloaded from above does not shutdown the computer also. I waited more than 30 seconds.

As a side note, I have used this in previous versions to shutdown, as I went to bed, and in the morning the computer was running. I have heard of this before and thought you guys might want to know. I think this is a Win Xp problem.

Thanks

Thanks solbjerg, I had caught that just before you posted...

More Importantly, I didn't want this to get lost in the shuffle here...

I just downloaded the latest iteration of Smart Defrag v1.1.02 last night and I am very pleased with the improvements that have been made since v1.03. Not only has the IObit development team made needed improvements to the cosmetics of the program, but the Deep Optimization feature is a very welcome plus!

Its been 30 years since I returned from China and my Mandarin has become pretty rusty so please bear with me when I say Smart Defrag v1.1.0.2 jende hen bang jo shr shwo ding how de!

Smart Defrag v1.1.0.2 is also doing a great job of defragmentation and optimization on my C drive. I was wondering though what might be the difference between the current fast optimize and deep optimize options and how they differ from the traditional optimization of previous versions?

Hi Valuater

Did you close down all running applications and programs beforehand?

Hi Valuater

Could it possibly be that you have it running automatically in the background also?

Otherwise it might be a Vista issue too.

Cheers

solbjerg

Yes!! Inclusive of AVG, sound control, and print manager in the tray!

Tested defragment shutdown just now and no soap!

No, everything was stopped and no auto-background was initialized... of that I am sure. ( I am on Win Xp sp3 )

...

Thanks Krissy, I appreciate the support here!

All I can say is thank you iobit and iobit forums.

I had downloaded the recent 1.1.0 version some days ago from Major geeks, and it worked perfectly for me. But I have XP and also experienced no shut down problems.

And then when version 1.1.0.2 showed up on major geeks just days later, I figured some bug may have been uncovered, and now this thread confirms it and solves the mystery.

I have been using iobit smart defrag for years and its a program I enthusiastically recommend.

And while all software has a potential to clash with some computers, its awesome to see iobit

correct a problem so fast.

I totally agree with that!!!

I have only been here a short while and I noticed the effort to respond quickly too!

Thanks IObit !!

Hi symbiotic

Looks a little bare :-(

Perhaps you could try a clean install.

If that doesn't work there must be a bug (again probably Vista related)

If so it is something IObit should address.

Uninstalled old version, than installed 1.1.0.2

windows vista ultimate x64

That picture actually looks strange with the mixed and erratic languages all over the place.

Hello Valuater

The mixed English and I suppose Russian could just be from the language file if not all lines are translated there, he should easily be able to correct that himself - and then send the corrected file to IObit.

Go into the language file and correct the words in question.

The empty space is another matter, - where I would try if a clean install would help. That is to say throw out the folder too.

Cheers
