As i see it, .msi Installation files are not tracked by the monitoring mechanism neither tracked when installing. Only .exe Installations are working properly.

.msi files are just a package containing instructions which will include a .exe file, and as such should be monitored.

If they are not then I agree there is an issue. However, in order to help we would need more info.

Could you give some examples of programs which you installed and were not monitored, because they were .msi.

I recommend that you also read the Iobit Uninstaller Product manual, to ensure you have it set up to monitor.

Also read some recent posts in the Uninstaller forum regarding Monitoring.

Here are some links with info about .msi.

Hi!

Is there any plan of support of .msi Installations?

Hi,

Install Monitor doesn't support . msi file now. But it is under active research.

Thanks,

Honestly, lack of support for .msi files is a big disappointment where it comes to business use. It shouldn't be very difficult to implement .msi support, and most businesses and IT professionals will prefer to use these packages over standard .exe installers for local systems. >:/
