ASC Icon Sometimes Missing

Upon startup sometimes the ASC icson appears in the system tray and sometimes it doesn't. This morning it didn't appear but in the Task Manager it appeared to be running under processes.

On the general options I've got two boxes checked--to minimize and to execute at Windows startup.

What can be done to get the icon to always appear at startup?

Thanks for your replies. Yes I am running Vista Home Premium SP1 & it is a legal copy direct from Microsoft.

I did the uninstall with the Revo Uninstaller on both ASC3 Pro and SmartDefrag, deleted the same folders from the Program Files, cleaned up with CCleaner, fixed registry errors also found by it. After that I did a restart and downloaded ASC3 Free, did the install, and entered the license number, ran it and did the repairs.

Following that I did a restart and the ASC3 icon still didn't appear in the tray, but the task manager processes showed it was running.

When I launch the program from the shortcuts and close it, the icon appears immediately in the system tray. What else should I check?

Advanced SystemCare 3............ REG_SZ......... "C:\Program Files\IObit\Advanced SystemCare 3\AWC.exe" /startup

Problem Appears Fixed

It seems this took two steps to fix.

First, right clicking on Start, going to Properties, to Notification Area and clicking on Customize under icons, and clicking on ASC Pro icon and changing the behavior to Show.

Second, right clicking on Computer, selecting Properties, selecting Advanced system settings, then the Advanced tab and selecting Settings under Performance and under Visual Effects selecting Let Windows choose what's best for my computer.

Thanks for the help!!
