IE8 and Norton Phising prtotection

IE8 keeps turning off norton phising protection when you open fresh web pages.

solution contact the free norton free support chat online and they give a free upgrade to the latest protection till the end of your licence. In my case it was to norton 360 version 3.

IE 8:urlmon.dll error

Hello,

Recently I have installed IE 8 and found that it crashes when I go to some particular web sites that worked fine before.

The error is urlmon.dll

In some other forum I read its due to corrupt Registry.

I have ASC (Pro). But running ASC does not solve this problem.

Any suggestion ?

Regards,

Wow

Narxis-Sorry,not sure about FF add-ons for IE.Also, your first link doesn't work for me. I've alerted Enoskype regarding your question and explained that you were unintentionally misdirected to the wrong thread.I'm sure he's the man to help you out,and should be responding later.Wish I could help-got something easier?

Yes, this is originally designed to AdBlock Plus in Firefox but i hope it can be imported to IE 7 Pro Adblocker, somehow...

Thank you for your patience, i dont have other problem or question.

EDIT:

Hi detailer, hi Narxis.

I think, JavaScript is used for modules, Add-ons and User scripts in IE Pro7

I believe, user scripts can only be inserted if you are a registered script creator/user for IE Pro. You have to submit the script to them for approval, I suppose.

On the other hand you can import a filter to IE8 as XML file by using InPrivate Filtering.

That's all I can say about IE pro for the import of filters at the moment.

I think it is better to wait for a fully compatible version of IE Pro to install on IE8, if IE pro7 is already not installed.

Cheers

Hi,

I have a cookie blocking problem in IE8.

My NZCity Home Page requires a cookie, but IE8 is blocking it. FireFox reads the page okay.

I've added the Home page to my "Trusted Sites" in IE and also checked to make sure it's not in the Restricted Sites list. I've also tried adjusting the Privacy Settings slider and the Compatibility button without success. What other settings may be blocking this? I haven't got "InPrivate Browser" turned on.

Ted, can you check the location

C:\Documents and Settings\{Use Name}\Cookies

and see if:

user_name @ nzcity.co[1].txt

cookie exist or, opening index.dat by Notepad reveals the same in it [Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) checkbox in the Folder Options must be unchecked to see the index.dat file.], when you can not enter the site.

Cheers.

Hi, again, enoskype,

I'm demoting IE8 for the moment as I have a number of unsolved issues with it. Probably all to do with security. I've now got FF all set up with menus like I had with IE8 and will use it as my main browser. Will take a few days break now. Many thanks for your help.
