Hardware Detection Module Cannot be trusted!

This lies and I know it. I have windows vista, and i have awc 2.4 official. It says I have a radeon graohics adapter, even though I dont, i have a geforce, It also says I have direct X version 9.0, but i have 10.0. I mean come on... Vista cant even run 9.0! Please tell me youll fix this cause dont know if i can trust this anymore...

At least your Advanced WindowsCare 2.4 lies to you. Mine didn't even bother ... it just gives me a list of "Unknown" (refer to my earlier post "Disappearing Icons and Hardware Information")

Can you do me a help. Run "Regedit" and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX and check out the item "Version", then tell me what's the version info, so I can fix this bug. Thanks in advantage.

Satlantis is right, and you are right.

 

Although my Vista Ultimate uses DirectX 10(DxDiag 6.00.6000.16386),

registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectX shows

 

version 4.09.00.0904 (Which is DirectX 9.0c)

 

AWC reads this registry, and shows version 9 in Vista.

I dont't know what to say... yes it windows regedit says 4.009 (directX 9), but im sure it uses 10, like Enoskype said, so..... i guess this is something I should adress with Microsoft.

my hardware detector was pretty accurate, except it picked up on the graphics that is not on, and didnt detect my nvidia one that is running
