Chipset RAM "missing" from L1CACHE

Recommended Posts

My computer came with 512MB, L1 (1)128MB, L1 (2) zeroMB,

L2 (1) 256MB, L2 (2) zeroMB. There should be another 128MB in L1(2) or L2(2).

How do I recover it? I noticed my CPU was maxed out lately and could not handle Canon printer/scanner software I added recently. Just downloaded ACS and found out I only have 384MB RAM right now. :?:

Things I played with in my computer to return total Installed Memory

- new driver:-? (NVidia nforce from vendor site)

- REG_DWORD

- roll back driver

- system restore

- reset default BIOS (F5)

Other problems:

I stopped Win auto updates - recovery partition is bloated and locked.:-x

Win XP won't allow increase size of RP. Factory recovery disks have no index or setup choices (ie partition format/size).

Are you talking about Belarc reporting 448M RAM vs 512M physically installed? Possibly your video card is sharing the "missing" 64M. That's not unusual on older systems.

edit: I've just re-read your posts and I confused as to whether your talking about main RAM or cache memory. If you're taking about the L1 and L2 caches, they're part the CPU and have nothing to do with BIOS or the chipset. The Sempron has a 128K L1 cache and a 256K L2 cache...I don't think you're missing anything.
