You guys are destroying yourselves with these ads

I got a pop up today of an advertisement of women looking for sugar daddies. I found the task in my task manager called spepopud.exe and with a little searching I found out it comes from Iobit and I see many others in your forum experiencing the same thing. You guys are destroying customer trust with these kinds of ads. Your constant ads for your own products were bad enough but they were tolerable. But racy ads from questionable websites now? This is now officially adware. I was a loyal customer for a long time. Not anymore. Uninstalling everything and I highly recommend anyone else using Iobit software do the same.

This happened to me today and I found via the task manager that the popups came from spepopud.exe and Smart Defrag. I am so annoyed, I have the Pro version and I'm still considering uninstalling everything despite having paid for these versions

thanks iobit for years of great software using smart defrag.. I have now SELF-BANNED this software due to SCAMS AND SPAMMY ADWARE--- ive deleted the "pub" folder and the spepopud.exe -- but keeps coming back!

I DONT WANT FAKE NEWS OR PORN POPUPS ON MY COMPUTER from a company that claims to be "anti-malware" - -even google says its "dangerous virus that displays ads and takes over browser"

sorry iobit.. you are now deemed as scammers/spyware in my eyes..

I made that same decision in July 2022, as a result of the ads at that time. I came back today to see if Iobit had realized their mistake, apologized, and promised to do better. They have not, it seems.

I am truly saddend to see this happen.

i was a pro user so its first time getting these ads but the fact they are spammy virus-like fake news ads or porn-like - thats a big no! - heck I sometimes have friend over who has kids.. what if they were on my pc playing minecraft and a porn ad about top 10 ladies looking for men comes up taking over the screen! (since uninstalling this adware crap its now stopped thank god)

Hi Angry-Excustomer. Can i ask please, if its safe to stop this process in task manager?

It is safe to stop the task, but so long as you have IObit products installed on your computer, it will keep coming back. Stopping the task won't remove it from your computer.

yeh stopping in task manager is what i do - its defo safe as it doesnt seem to be an important file other then to display ads.

but and i even deleted the file and the whole folder off my computer but it comes back when the app checks the server for an update. so i just uninstalled all iobit software

Do the Mods even read thier own forum???

Do you even know what a Moderator does. ????

Did you even read Forum Usage Guidelines????

Mods cannot remove items from a program....As You Requested in other posts......

Only Iobit can do that....which they have now done....(apparently)

Unfortunately ads have not stopped. I deleted the file "spepopud.exe" last week, only to find that it was reinstalled, upon reboot, and after a reboot today (10/8/2022), I got another popup, this timeI found the offending file was "karativa.exe" which was installed after the reboot occurred.

As a result, I have uninstalled IOBIT Uninstaller, and will never look at any IOBIT products again. Good job.
