Windows Finds Junk ASC Does Nor?

I am puzzled that when I run ASC to find junk files, it apparently finds a lot and deletes them yet when I then go into WIndows built-in Disk Cleanup, it discovers a lot more system files that it then cleans up. So my question is: Why does ASC not also detect these junk files? It leads one to wonder if ASC is doing what it says it does when it cleans up the junk.
