AscFileFilter Query

Recommended Posts

After installing Advanced System care, i'm getting the following Warning messages in Admin Events in the Event log

  • Event ID 11
  • File System Filter 'AscFileFilter' (Version 6.1, ‎2022‎-‎03‎-‎23T13:28:05.000000000Z) does not support bypass IO. Supported features: 0x4.

Recommendation from Microsoft was to remove Advanced System Care.

As i rather like it, I'd like to know if there is a fix in the works for this.

Regards

Greg

Hi
We are sorry for the issue you encountered.

Please take some screenshots of the error and send them to us. Guide for taking screenshots: http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/general/ht/winscreenshot.htm

And please download the tool from http://testdemo.iobit.com/InfoHelper.exe. Then double click to run this tool on the PC with the problem and click "Save report". After it finishes, you will get a pop-up window to tell you where the report file IObit_Debug_Info.zip is saved. Click the "OK" button to open that saved folder. Please send the zipped file to us via the email feedback@iobit.com.

Thank you.

It seems that there has been no reply or resolution for this problem, perhaps because Greg Patrick do not provide any requested documentation.

I have this problem with 2 IOBit minifilters: AscFileFilter and IUFileFilter.

I have not provided much of the requested information either as it is unnecessary.
I will instead send a dump of the eventlog messages to feedback@iobit.com.
I refer you to the MS web page https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/storage/bypassio and
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/ifs/bypassio
This only affects NVME drives of which I have 2 and where my systems reside.

I now see that Maschenny raised a similar issue on 26/09/2022, so I do not need to send the output from fsutil.
