Shadows appear under icons how do I stop it?

Recommended Posts

Is there Anybody in the Advanced Windows Cleaner forum that knows how I can fix this??? It seems to be connected with this program the defragger????

Shadows appear under icons after running the cleaner and re-starting how do I stop it? I went in to Control Panel/system/advanced. Unchecked the box "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" Then clicked "Apply/Ok" after it happened the 1st time. I rebooted and it came back after running "Advanced Windows Cleaner" went back and did it again but I'm afraid it is not permanently fixed.

It is still doing it after the automatic run of the program. It is a little hassel to have to keep unchecking/re-setting the box. How do I permanently fix this I hate shadows under icons as it is blurry to me?

The Shadow Knows..................

I do not mind that everything is optomized, will having put it on the ignore list change anything else in the area of "visual effects" that is good to straighten out? I like the settings as they are when it is done (except the shadows of course) Will setting it on ignore now "set it" permanently as it is right now?

antiquehardware,

I thougt I have given you the answer in the above post.

Apply this:( As you described.)

"Control Panel/system/advanced. Unchecking the box "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" Then clicking "Apply/Ok"."

Immediatelly apply the procedure I described in post #2 of this thread above.

Do only "System Analysis" Scan. (System Optimization in new version).

Most probabaly there will be only one item shown in "Details".

Right click on it and choose "Add to Ignore List" by clicking on it.

Next time AWC will ignore it.

There will be no shadows under icons, unless you delete the one mentioned above from the "Ignore List", or unless you intentionally check the checkbox in system for "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop".

This advice considers that, you have already excepted all optimizations in the last repair of AWC.
