I also found that when I made it scan removable disks, it would also scan for tracking cookies in my computer.

When I did a full scan and started clicking for no reason near and on the "Security 360" banner, the scan animation started freezing with each click. This phenomena did not happen when I clicked other things.

It also did not detect that I was using Avast!.

In case this helps, I use Windows XP service pack 3 on a 2.5 year old Samsung X11.

However, IObit Security 360 does have its benefits even as beta.

-Full scan is very quick compared to other antiviruses

-Found and removed 4 viruses on its first scan which my other antiviruses did not find

-Claimed to find 779 tracking cookies (not sure about this one)

I have vista ultimate. After downloading the beta all my Microsoft Office 2007 applications failed to start or crashed immediately. After removing the beta everything is back to normal. Strange! I'll wait for the next beta and try again.

Needs some serious work

I'm surprised that IObit released Security 360 with the amount of bugs that it has. Even though on the website it does say beta, there's just too many problems.

One of the biggest bugs is that it does something to Windows automatic updates, update starts but then when you click on download updates it just don't do anything. Also there's a big problem with antivirus programs. AVG don't load on a Vista system and on a XP system it makes the download scanner choke and crash.

I realize that this is a beta and you're asking for feedback on bugs but for people that are not very computer knowledgeable they won't know what to do.

The best thing is to just disable Security 360 from starting at boot up and just use it to scan your system but that don't show you were all the bugs are.

It does "appear" to do a good job scanning and allowing you to clean up adware, spyware, etc..

Some questions

(I posted in the wrong thread, sorry.)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. In ASC Startup Manager, IS360 shows as "unknown".

2. IS360.exe does not show in Windows Task Manager.

3. IS360.exe shows Windows Task Manager after I open it to scan, update and etc.

Is ISsrv.exe the same as the bad Interaspy- issrv.exe ?

Everything else seems to work fine.

With reference to the screenshots on the "System Protection" window..Some are suffering the "blank spaces" syndrome..The Windows 7 screenshot from my machine shows the text is inserted when the Beta 1 is running on Build 7100 0f Windows 7 ..This shows how the wide variety of differenr machines and configurations of installed programs can throw up such varied results..This proves the value of Beta versions in addressing these issues.Be patient fellas' it'll all get sorted!

Hi Toontown..

The Windows 7 I'm using is the Release Candidate Build 7100 which is the most recent... and a great improvement over the Beta release.Pretty much anything that is running on Vista SP1/ SP2 is running well on the RC version of Windows 7 .

IObit 360 is showing to be quite stable on this platform and bearing in mind it is Beta1...it shows that the IObit team have had some forethought in putting the 360 program together...Yes..we're going to see some glitches and things like various Antivirus progs being reported as missing etc; but thats what Beta is all about and the feedback from users will help resolve these issues.

As for your question about the scan running in the background..I have only run it minimized...and have yet to test the realtime mode. If you aren't suffering from the "blank space" issue on the "Protect" tab...you can click on "Status" and check to see if realtime is enabled on your setup configuration!

Bug

Updated IObit Security 360's main database 2 times now (yesterday and today), but the fingerprint and the definitions version doesn't change. Yesterday before I updated it was 99915, 2 updates later it's still 99915. Same goes to definitions version (06/08/09).

360 causing issues with installation

360 causing issues with installation, specifically i was installing trillian IM and auslogics disk defrag and it froze them while it was in the install process and even delayed the pop up alerts from comodo freezing the instalation and as soon as i exit 360 it runs off and install.

now there isnt anyway to configure the protect stuff yet so i will have to wait to get this fixed, hopefully?

^got the same bug, downloaded the same main database file for two days straight and no increase in database.

today i tested iobit 360 with 50 malware samples. the realtime ptotection only detected about 3 malware samples only. then i ran a fullscan and it detected all 50 pieces of malware, i dont know if is a bug with the realtime protection. is not a good sign when malware goes right thru, and then iobit 360 picks it up when u do a scan. but then is too late couse the malware already did some damage to the computer

Hi q

I start by running a full scan, then let the realtime protection take care of what malware that is trying to get into the computer.

My guess is that the realtime protection would eventually have found the other malware too, when they exhibited activity.

Cheers

It would be nice if we could undo the changes that have been made after a systemcheck. It found 1 thread but i doubt if it really was a thread [install explorer.exe /external installer]. This part was set to quarantine and i could undo, but not all the small problems it found.

I also got a problem with Microsoft Office 2007. But i'm not 100% sure if security360 was the cause. At least after uninstalling my problems where solved, so i guess....

But it looks promising. And i'm really satisfied with all of you're software!

Greetings and good luck!

Hi Dawe

Yes there seems to be some rather annoying bugs in this beta version.

When trying out new programs - and this goes at least triple for beta versions - you should always create a restore point before installing and running a new application/program.

Starting today I had a new problem start on Windows 2000. Avira update started having a problem. avnotify.exe "The Instruction 0x77Fcad23referenced memory at 0x00000010. The memory cannot be read."

I removed Security 360 and it works fine now.

yes i understand but my point is that i was testing the realtime protection on iobit 360. almost all the malware i ran when right thru the realtime protection. if the on demand scanner dtects it then the realtime protection should have pick it up, thats my point. i would understand if a few things gets by and then the on demand scanner picks it up, but almost everything got thru the realtime protection. can someone please explain that to me. i really think this program shows alote of promise, couse the on demand scanner detected alote of stuff. but the realtime protections has to improve.

Gotta Love Them Betas

Yeah-no biggie-360 just crashed when I initialized a full scan.I also can't view the four previous ignored detections, yet a new scan shows four detections(probably the same ones) under the main window with no line items or descriptions in the main window.Strange indeed.

Failure at first start up.

The program works very well for me, and it's a well thought out piece of software. However it is the first to get loaded when I boot up. I have a small application that delays software at start up. I will just have to put a delay on this application in order for it to run.

antivirus software not detected

I am using sophos antivirus version 7.6.8 with the lastest update, however, is360 seems to think i have no antivirus protection. Also, is this software supposed to replace adv sys care pro?
