IObit instalation kits and ESET SS4

:!: I recently installed the latest version of ESET SS4 and after running for a few minutes it notify's me that ASC (v.3.3.4) setup is probably a variant of a virus, a bit later the IS360 (v. Beta 1.1) setup is also found as probably a variant of a virus.

:? My question now is, where is the problem, there is a problem with the instalation kits or with the av? Or it is something else?

Edit: I've just download IS360 Beta 2.0 setup and had no problems

Hi Someone

Please check the report at www.virustotal.com

Read about it here

Online Help for IObit Software

It is most probably a false positive

What was the file called that they flagged?

Did you have fully updated definitions from Eset?

Cheers

@solbjerg First I don't know how the files flagged were called because I've delete them from quarantine too.

Second yes my eset is up to date.

But the most important thing I don't know what happened today because I've downloaded again ASC setup and scaned it and it came clean. I'm confused. The scan log is this:

Scan Log
Version of virus signature database: 4241 (20090714)
Date: 14.07.2009 Time: 13:06:34
Scanned disks, folders and files: D:\Kits\asc-setup.exe
D:\Kits\asc-setup.exe » INNO » files.info - file is not an archive
Number of scanned objects: 3
Number of threats found: 0
Time of completion: 13:06:34 Total scanning time: 0 sec (00:00:00)

So, what does it means that eset can't scan the whole file because it can't open an archive?

Hi Somone

I would suggest an absolutely clean install - description also to be found in

Online Help for IObit Software

in order to try to find out if Eset still will flag the same files.

Then submit the report to VirusTotal, save the report from them and attach or copy it here.

Does the program work? Can you register?

Cheers

"The program" if you mean ASC yes is working, and the "virus" was found in a setup file that I kept on my PC in case I want to reinstall ASC, not in the installed program or something like that. That setup file that eset said that conatins a virus it's deleted.

Anyway I've unistalled ASC and then reinstalled it and nothing.
