Smart defrag freezes on startup

My Smart Defrag 1.20 freezes when i start it up, usually for 3 to 4 minutes. After that it works just fine.

 

Is this normal behavior?

If I do not have the recommended settings activated, my SD will not respond for about 10 seconds, - if I do - it opens instantly.

Attaching a picture of the settings that accomplish that.

Actually it looks like just having the icon in the tray is sufficient for it to start up instantly (checked further - it needs to start up with Windows too)

Smart RAM can cause your PC to freeze when it is trying to compress or get rid of waste space and you try to open a program. Happens to me alot, Which is why I rarely use it unless I am going to open a big program.
