awc causing various problems?

i am using windows vista home premium on my dell e1505, ever since i started using awc, the following reboot after a scan+fix will freeze after the green bar loading screen. I have to restart the computer and it will work again.

 

also, i notice my free AVG happen to have a strange blank line in the component list, and i am unable to update. it says "update can not be stated again because it is already running"

i really dont like vista for this problem. so many bugs. if uninstalling and re installing doens't work, something is buggy with vista. just try it a few times. see what happenes.
