- Top 10 most helpful users in IObit Security 360 beta testing

 

- Top 10 most active users in IObit forum

 

- The authors of the chosen language files for IObit Security 360

Well i Just down loaded the latest iobit and felt rather a dissipation--

i really was under the impression its FREE total free with every new build!

as was posted it will always be free..forever--

perhaps i just don't understand the word free --or its interpretation---

 

i saw upgrade to PRO ,when wanting to enable all protection --thinking it the real Build 1 st out of Beta--

when i hit ok made the link ---

saw you now pay for the extras --sure its still free --with limeted

safety --i shall use it till it ether becomes redundant and stops updating

 

i understand the $ part..and guess Nothing in life is free---

How is it possible for iobit to give many of their products for free.of course im happy that they do so

Hi jorgen,

I think the largest share of the revenue is from the Pro version of ASC. The thought is once people see what a great job the free programs do, they will pay the small annual fee for the Pro version.

i use asc pro myself, but what about 360?Is that gonna cost anything in the future?

why? i am was really happy that i find free anti-malware software with all great features like DOG, automatic scan and automatic updates. and now? stupid upgrade button is looking at me, and i am so sad, that all great fetaures are locked for me :neutral: . i am really thinking about uninstall.

Its good to hear that this opportunity is made:lol:. But I believe the conditions are little bit heavier, beta testers are more than 10 in this forum, while some informed regarding some issues encountered on their pc, others were luckier and their pc continued running fine!:twisted:

 

 

I started out with Avast free

Virus are not for free

Atlas, it bloated

and so I voted

to seek another's bit.

 

A bit is 0 or 1

With Iobit is 1

Security is 360

 

Iobit Free fit the bill for me

As an average joe

I'd prefer the "Pro"

For complete security!

Cleaning registry was my next try

Wall was regged and had to try

The pop-ups made me want to cry

Its "Ask" toolbar

was a step too far

1) may I know what are the strings missing in the english.lng file for IOBit Security 360 RC 1.0 and where to insert them?

 

2) According to IOBit Security 360 RC webpage:

I think it is obvious that there should be a way to support the developers. The PRO & FREE licenses are not that different from eachother, it's just that little feature that encourages people to buy the low-cost PRO version. Very common and so-not-a-big-deal. Just spend does few dollars/euros to support the program developers and enjoy a safe computer with real-time protection & automatic updates in the background.

This is really no different from having free and paid versions of ASC. Other companies like Ad-Aware do exactly the same. I do not have any problem with that. The developers put in long hours of hard work in providing a quality product. They certainly deserve to reap the financial rewards! I do have a concern with the timing. Until any software exits beta/RC status it should not be being sold.

 

A proper way to do it is to announce that 360 has gone gold and that a pro version will be offered for sale on such and such a date. The bells and whistles that the pro version would have that the fre version would not should be clearly listed. This is the case with ASC. I can see easily on my free version what is not available on my paid versions. The free version should always be an excellent stand alone product. IObit's certainly are. They should also be good enough for users to want to pay for a premiere version and to be happy with what they receive. That is also certainly the case with ASC. I think that we just need to clear up the confusion about what will be contained in each flavor of 360.

Peasetoyou, I agree with you. But the 'free' product still has bugs that need

to be cleared up and fixed. I wouldn't want to by a Pro version and still have the same bugs as in the 'free' version, would you?

I'm really disappointed to the latest update, the new version is a RC but limit some features in the software. IObit says the Security 360 is free for use, It is acceptable that it carries a PRO version to make money in order to survive. But it's rediculous when the PRO version is simply the original free version with no new features. Limit those features in the free version and ask people to upgrade is a blackmail and is not acceptable.

 

PLEASE! IObit!, make something new in the PRO version that worth us to pay for upgrade, don't just cheating us!

 

Remember that we all help you to go through all those beta (unstable) version, it is not the proper way to treat your beta tester.

I advice you to do that, see what the other users think about it, and then you can make your comments.

I haven't noticed that you made any comment on Beta testing either.

 

First IObit decided to have the DOG only in Pro version, then, after the insistance of the Forum community, with a great decision, they have included the DOG in Free version.

 

You can download the free version with DOG included, if you look around in the Forum.
