FireFox tweaks and ASC Internet Booster

Although FireFox is running smooth for me I am still interested in the tweaks I found at Kioskea called Optimizing FireFox completely

 

Intro

 

Type about:config in the address bar of Firefox, then read and confirm the warning.

 

- To obtain a value, type the name or part of its name in the search field "Filter".

- To create value, we must right-click on the page and select "New".

 

These 4 tweaks are quite common on the web.

 

Increase the speed of loading pages

 

1) Find the channel network.http.pipelining

2) Double-click on and put the value to "true"

 

1) Find the channel network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

2) Optimize the value to 9 (you can save more - 30, 100 – same is not appreciated by network administrators)

 

1) Find the channel network.http.proxy.pipelining

2) Move the value to "true" (double click)

 

1) Create a new string named nglayout.initialpaint.delay

2) Set the value to "0"

(search on "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" after to see if you passed ...)

 

These other tweaks are not so common on the web

1) Find the channel-connections network.http.max

2) Increase the value to 60

 

1) Find the channel network.http.max-connections-per-server

2) Put the value to 32

 

1) Find the channel network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy

2) Put the value to 16

 

1) Find the channel network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-server

2)Put the value to 16

 

1) Find the channel network.dns.disableIPv6

2) Move the value to "true"

 

1) Create a new boolean value "named config.trim_on_minimize"

2) Set the value to "true"

Optimize the rendering and loading pages

 

1) Create Channel content.notify.backoffcount

2) Give it a value of "5"

 

1) Create Channel ui.submenuDelay

2) Value "0"

 

1) Find the channel plugin.expose_full_path

2) Move the value to "true"

 

I just wanted to check to see if firstly, anyone thinks any of these tweaks are a good or bad idea.

 

Secondly, if doing any or all of these teaks would produce changes to or upset the ASC Internet Booster settings ? If so would I need to reset (re-do) Internet Booster ?

 

Does anyone have any other tweaks or warnings ?

 

I intend to backup all my FireFox settings first using MozBackup

 

I have no real problem with using Revo UnInstaller to completely uninstall FireFox (Restart) then re-install everything anew, if necessary.

 

I think I just talked myself into it :roll: :lol:
