Challenger- I applaud your contribution to this fine program!

I have the Crystal Disk Info portable app. on my 16 GB Toshiba Flash Drive and I use it regularly. This is the most comprehensive information utility that I have ever used in that it literally tells you almost everything about your computer i.e. the brand, model number, specs and even the date that the parts on the mother board were made, its simply amazing!

Another program that I really like is the Crystal Disk Mark program which gives readings that are as accurate as my HD Tune Pro only costs $35 less...

It also gives read and write times for all connected hard discs as well as Flash Drives and even Compact Flash, SD or MS Pro Duo cards which many freeware disk benchmark tools will not do.

You may want to give CPU-Z a try.

I remember using their softs sometime ago and now I will test the updated versions, they have good interface, although I would like they add more features such as if you have 2 hard drives then you have a separate page for each one of them, an option to see at least the 2 temperatures in a one page would be great. Now suppose you have 3 hard drives????

Impossible to see any temperatures on ths windows screen unless to open the soft!

All and all its a nice tool to have arround specially the portable ones, hope they made a U3 application, this will be great.

What areas of Software, Hardware and Network information does CPU-Z cover that Crystal Disk Info does not?

..... such as if you have 2 hard drives then you have a separate page for each one of them, an option to see at least the 2 temperatures in a one page would be great. Now suppose you have 3 hard drives???? ......

I use Notebook Hardware Control which has a drop-down list in

Settings > Show all NHC Options and Settings > Hard Disk

so I guess it would show more than one HD, I'm not sure as I can't test it.

.... Impossible to see any temperatures on ths windows screen unless to open the soft!....

You can put the HD and/or CPU temp on the TaskBar, hover over the icon gives a balloon with CPU Clock, CPU Load, CPU Temp, HD Temp.

Again I can't test what it would do with more than one HD and it may be necessary to buy the Pro version to monitor more than one HD.

Double click on the TaskBar icon brings up the page last visited, so this can be the Status page with basic info or the Hard Disk page, whatever you like.

Worth a look if you are interested

It has a lot more features like over-clock and other scary stuff (to me) but I haven't touched that.

I use NHC mainly just to show the HD temp on my Netbook and it also has a better battery monitor.

Actually I would be happy with something simpler, just an info pop-up would do, but after endless searching I can't find anything, strange :???:

Any recommendations would be great :-)

I use Software Information for Windows when I need more info

All the best, woz of oz

Umm, I do not know, since I have not tried this Crystal Disk Info.

I was merely pointing out another free and portable program for System Information.

Also, SIW in your screenshots, is an excellent program as well.
