un virus ou un programme indésirable 'TR/Dropper.Gen2' [trojan] a été détecté.

 

This morning antivir alert : in the file'C:\Program Files\IObit\IObit Security 360\IS360Init.exe' a virus or an programme indésirable 'TR/Dropper.Gen2' [trojan] as been detected.

 

What do we do ?

There is nothing malicious in setup file of IS 360.

Have a look at THIS post.

 

For IS360Init.exe file, only McAfee-GW-Edition gives a false positive alert.

 

VirusTotal results of IS360Init.exe file.

I have had the same double-alert. I have Antivir fully updated. As it seems it's not only McAfee. My neighbour had the same problem. Somebody should have a look at it.

Nice to see that AVIRA have today released the fix for the false Trojan.

TR/DROPPER- GEN2. Have written a review on CNET to try to offset some of the damaging/misplaced criticism of IOBit Security 360.

Yes the false positives are often damaging to the reputation of other programs, while the companies that generate them is afforded the latitude to do so from the asumption that it is better to have a few false positives than to miss a real virus (which they also sometimes do).
