AWC2-Personal-Not doing comprehensive cleaning job

Re-installed AWC2Personal. After one click cleaning, it left 6.5MB temp internet files and cookies(document&settinos), unused file extension, invalid default icon, old start menu keys and missing MUI References for cleaning by Crap Cleaner.

It looks that no single programme can do the comprehensive job.

Experience of the members,in this connection is invited.

I use both

I use AWC 2 AND CCleaner. Each has it's strong points. I have found no problems running both-I think they compliment each other. A very good combination. With these two, Windows defender, Zone alarm, Adaware & CA antivirus my computer has never run so smoth. With latest version, Smart Defrag seems to be helping considerably. You can't go wrong running AWC & CCleaner.

Yes, CCleaner is a very useful program that I myself use. But just as CCleaner has customizable cleaning options, so does AWC. Just open the Privacy/Temporary Files Scan options and check the default unchecked boxes to find more "junk" during cleaning.

The registry items CCleaner found are common of any registry cleaner. They all pick up on what others left behind and you may even notice that sometimes running the registry scan more than once is useful because it will pick up more junk after the first scan when referenced keys to the invalid keys have been deleted and no longer point anywhere.

I would recommend you swing by Microsoft's Live Safety Scan page and try out their clean up scan which will also detect some items that CCleaner and AWC will miss. It is simply common that all registry cleaners find some stuff that others don't. You have to keep in mind that deleting more isn't always better. That is why many people choose to clean their computer themselves. Programs that do this for us are simply more convenient and much faster and so are more valuable. The criteria they use to find what is junk varies, however.
