I noticed you put "NONE" for 'fix broken shortcuts'... ASC has a tool named "Shortcut Fixer" located under the Tuneup module.

In regards to testing versus other programs, I have personally tested this this shortcut fixer against TUU's similiar tool (can not speak on System Mechanic's) and found ASC's to be much better.

That's a nice test =)

Personally, I find that ASC's "System Optimize" needs a little more work.

The first time you use ASC, it optimizes a lot of things; however, even changing from "Basic" to "Top Performance (Home User)" doesn't seem to optimize things....

And Thanx for the info IObit Guy on starting the project for ASC v4, it just sounds so.... Professional. It's so gonna be an outstanding program. Can't wait to see what it would be like! :-D

Cheers.

The problem I have with TUU and System Mechanic is that while they offer some really good features, often times, they will actually slow down the average user's computer. I have not actually tried the newest version of System Mechanic or the recently released TUU 2010, so I will withhold comment of those, but from past experience.. these programs often add several services/startup items that will negate the actual benefits provided by the program tweaking/cleanup apps.

Hi PCTech,

You are right about System mechanic's nagation, but when using v 9, the only nuisance is the iolo service trying to connect to internet from time to time, as all the startup items concerning SM, is disbled and I use it as on demand for the utilities it has different than others. Even service can be stopped which I don't bother.

This way it's nagation is minimal.

Cheers.
