HELP, i do not have a clue!

I am a bit confused really, i have just installed windows 7 and ran IObit 360, it found a trojan agent called 'thocr.psp', when i opened the file destinations there was a file similarly named 'thocrapi.dll' i ran iobit and removed it, however they were from a folder to do with a windows installer package. i think they are gone now, however i have just ran another scan... i havnt downloaded anything and it has flagged a .png and a .gif file in the tempary internet folder, but i have not been on a site to get a virus? is this just IObit being sensitive or is my computer infected? i am a complete novice so do not really understand how i actually have a virus or wether it is a false positive

 

any help would be much appreicated

Hi burrellbuzzman,

 

Generally it is a good practice that, the suspected file to be uploaded to VirusTotal and give the link to the report of outcome.

 

Before deleting a file, it is also a good practice to put it into the Ignore List in IS360.

ok, i have never known what to do, so thanks for letting me know.

 

i am currently running scans in safemode etc, i guess it is hard to help me if i have already delted the files. although why would you ignore the files? if the program reports it to be a trojan, or back door?

It is good practice to double check, as always with every security software, false positives can be found.

 

You can find the files to download in the WEB if you remember which files they were.

If your cooling fan is not turning on, you probably need to replace it. They are inexpensive and very easy to change. Your pc is probably turning off from over heating.

The best advice I can give

 

I have a p.c problem,anytime i use my p.c,after 5 minutes it turns off just like that and my p.c fan doesn't roll/work.

This are the things i think might have been the problem,i downloaded speed fan,did some temperature shuffling,i downloaded c.cleaner(a registry cleaner,it erased a part of my anti virus and now my anti virus is turned off,but basically what i am concerned about is my fan not turning ,how can i fix this,should i re-install xp,or what ,I'm confused.please my p.c is my life.how can i make my p.c fan work please i need help.

I tried system restore,but the system restore program did not come up,i use xp on hp compaq,my p.c is about 4-5 years old and this is the first time its acting like it want's to crash.

 

Hi, I would love to help but the best advice I can give you is.....

 

I guess your PC is a HP Compaq NoteBook (LapTop) and so I suggest you find a support forum for your NoteBook.

Fan problems are quite a common discussion on NoteBook forums so help should be easy to find.

 

Even if it is a HP Compaq DeskTop it is still best to ask for help at that forum.
