Desktop Defender 2010

I have been infected with this fake anti-virus and cannot get rid of it. Can anybody help? I have tried the so advertised and published manual guides found in the web, but somehow it does not go away. It is very annoying and frustrating. I cannot do much because it keeps showing warnings of viruses found in my system and the only way to be able to do anything is to let the sofware start to do its scanning. Funny thing is that my antivirus software by Trend Micro was and is running. They gave the same instructions I found on the web and then offer to clean my system for $62.+ one time fee. I think it is not acceptable since I already paid for the software supposed to protect me from these problems. Can anybody help? I did not find any mention of it in these forums.
