how to stop the up dates of I0360--ok one is only given 3 options.

so why is it still linking to IOBIT in the background..

and why is there no option to disable .updates? and stop linking to the update site?

whether one want it .or not. is not the ask here .

if i do not want it should this not be So ?

if i do not want this why is there not the added option button

next .i have been advised that the tray (IO360)links to the net.why?

i dont want this..

so i want to know if this can be added .the background linking.

a option given..

at the moment i have 2 options .

1 shut it down.

2 block all the linking with my fire wall or filters.that drives one a bit silly as the filters show the constant linking blocked..

again the option should be able to be given.. to update ,link,

personally i hate UPDATES.and background linking.

so this as i stated is not the engagement i want..nor am i trying to flare up

a debate on updates..

simply want the option .to allow or not and not have to close the app

to stop linking.

Hi jjj,

I have found the following setting in ZoneAlarm to stop IS360 connecting to internet itself and for updating.

Note that the update of IS360 is scheduled to start in a past date and end in a past date . Automatic Scan is scheduled as the same.

I manually update IS360 whenever I feel like.

IS360tray.exe is checking the PC if it is connected to Internet when you Run IS360 and checking that by pinging Google servers every 5 minutes, so that IObit servers will not be loaded. Adjusting the permissions in ZoneAlarm as below will stop IS360 to connect to internet by itself or by update.

IObit Security 360 order_in the image:__

1. is360.exe

2. IS360TRAY.EXE

3. is360svr.exe

4. SUP_IS360.EXE

5. IS360UPDATER.EXE

Cheers.

Well enoskype it never does by me, - my setting is to check for updates when the program starts, - and the first thing I do when it does is to hit the button "check for updates" - so it probably doesn't get enough time to do it on its own :-)

I don't have it to start up with Windows and neither do I have it in the tray, exept when it is running after I bring it up.

Perhaps that accounts for me to never having seen that "problem" on my machine :-)

Hi solbjerg,

Choosing OFF for auto updating and scanning will not stop IS360 from connecting to Internet.:grin:

IS360 will check if the PC is connected to the internet by pinging a Google server.

Cheers.

You wouldn't see it if you don't have a firewall (which is controlled by you) solbjerg.

Combined firewalls with other software may even not ask you if you would like to allow, and when given permission once, then they allow it to connect every time without users notice.

OK, if you have a close look to the image below, it is shown that as soon as IS360 is started by user, it will try to connect and try every and each 5 minutes.

BTW, a while ago, the issue (reality is to get the load off IObit servers) has been confirmed by IObit.

Cheers.

Hi enoskype

I use Windows firewall and I have IS360 as one of the exceptions. :-)

Also I always unblock programs I install - never install any I am unsure of.

Cheers

I have found the following setting in ZoneAlarm to stop IS360 connecting to internet itself and for updating.

that's why i really did not want to debate this.

blocking is not a problem..i can stop any app.no matter what.

my ask is

why is there not a option in the program.(NO update) button.?

and why is it made to ping? i do not need it nor want it.

i do not allow any thing like this. so if a app has this in build then i rather get rid of it.

i do not allow Updating.and dislike it. yes i have done so if and when i want it.

as for pinging not a hope on my system.i do not allow this server its permanent!

(IS360 will check if the PC is connected to the internet by pinging a Google server.)

i want to see the options added to the program.and stop pinging.

that is why i scan when the modem is of..i have known this a long time..

but for this propose i let it run .just to show i block all io360 events ..

as i want to make it clear it not bagging the program

if there was a option i would run it all the time..

now also i want to make this point .its only me .the way i feel ,and has nothing to do with the app ability.i love the program.but run it of line, only

that is why i asked .

Hi jjj,

I understand what you ask and what you want, then, why don't you choose a past date to update choosing the radio button "Perform updating at a scheduled time" option in the settings?

So, it will never try to update then. See the attachment in post #2 of this thread.

Hi sunny,

My reasoning is explained in detail in posts #2 & #5 in Recommended Scan Settings? thread.

itsmejjj will give the reason himself I believe...

Cheers.

that is about how i feel my self.you did a wonderful explanation here~

i think my piont is this .the pinging (LINK) this is a no no..

i have done what you described.and find it ok..shame it cant be left running with out the ping,or links ..

Now as for updating. yes when i feel it right.or want it.and not silently in the background.

certainly not wanting to change things as i have them.unless i want it .or try out something new.

i back up the system first.(image) then do a update.

2nd point if i am happy with a version.any i do not want it changed.. as in data base.or program..this is why i do not allow any Update from any

application..no other reasoning..

like i asked ,in my first post .

and as you can see i can restore any if i want .or kill them off

i do love this app

yes ,do not let this deter you in any way, update as you want.and its the way to go.or do as suggested.by some of us. run one if you feel you want.or need it.

if you have it blocked ,unblock .run it,and then apply the blocking, back .
