Newbie - Family Search Indexing unable To Launch

Recommended Posts

Hi Strong

???

Are you talking about a scanning performed by IS360 - or is it a scanning by ASC?

Please read Usage of IObit Products (link in my signature)

Good Morning,

After IObit scanning I am unable to launch Family Search Indexing from the shortcut on my desktop and must return to Familysearchindexing.org to do so. Would like some help. Family Search uses JAVA.

Appreciate your help.

Hi Strong

You ought to have posted in the proper place - ASC General -

Regarding the "missing link" - it probably got "cleaned/Repaired" during a "System Optimize" scan.

You can try to go to the Restore Center in the program and choose to annull/recreate/roll back the restore points there starting with the latest.

Another possibility is to try this: (From Usage of IObit Products)

Performance

"Let Windows choose the best settings for your computer"

This window can be reached by writing sysdm.cpl in "Run" or

The Windows key + Pause/Break Opens System Settings and then you choose the tab Advanced and the button Performance - Settings

Or you can right click My Computer, choose Properties - the tab Advanced and the button "Settings" in the Performance section.

This can sometimes restore settings that the System Optimize has changed, but you will then have to place that "problem" in the Ignore List the next time you run System Optimize.

There are further possibilities in that window if you want to experiment a bit.

Let's see if that does it for you :-)

Cheers

Hi solbjerg,

Thanks for answering. I believe that the scanning is by ASC - free version. I am sure that you will see by this statement that I do indeed need to read your instructions.

Appreciate your help.
