First time user question

Recommended Posts

I just used Smart Defrag for the first time and many of the files said Result was not enough space. Others were defraged. So what does that mean? Not enough space on the harddrive? I have a 40Gb hardrive and its got 31gb used and 5.66 available. So would that be it? Its been running real slow. Thanks for your help. D

Hello Dougaji,

The threshold for even the standard windows defrag is around 15% available

space. Your 40GB HDD would mean you would need at least 6GB free. You indicate less than the ideal 6GB free. If you haven't already, run diskclean and look for files and programs/applications that you no longer use or need and uninstall or delete them to free up additional space on your HDD. Once you have 6GB or more free space, Smart Defrag should do a better job at defrag.
