Can't figure this out! (memory leak by IS360)

Hi solbjerg!!

OK garybear

Here you have only 57% free.

Is Outlook Express still responding?

Is it possible that you have some services automated that few others have?

In one instance enoskype could duplicate that the memory usage went up over time, as far as I have seen. He expected it to be fixed when the new version hits us.

Cheers

Hi friend. I stopped IObit 360 and I got back my 72% free memory. I wish I was smarter. I suppose that I could have some services automated that others don't. I will add a screen shot. Many thanks for your response my friend. I feel like I'm getting my sanity back and maybe this can be solved. Thanks my friend.==garybear PS Since it seems to really mess up IE8 and Outlook Express, they could have some thing to do with the problem. I just don't know!! PS I think Smart Ram could be adding to the problem ,because if I exit Smart Ram and then restart I get back even more free memory ,almost 35 or 40GB. Like I said my friend I only wish I was smarter and could be more help. I guess you will just have to deal with my PC inabilities. PS I have almost 750+ of free memory at the moment. Go figure. All I did was stop and start IObit360 and Smart RAM!! My PC seems to respond a little faster also.==garybear. I have blamed everyone but IObit360 until now. I'm not bitter because I love IObit and all my friends, just like to see a little action. I think I have proven my point. I wait to hear from some of the top dogs a IObit management or programmers. Thank you!!

Hi garybear

One thing looked a little weird the task scheduler was both stopped and on automatic.

Hard to follow for me as I have the services in Danish and the coloums are too narrow for me to read much.

Cheers

Hi friend! I found the task scheduler, but I could not start it. It would not give me the option to stop or start. Do you have any ideas?? garybear

Hi garybear

Go to the service task scheduler in services.msc

Right click task scheduler choose properties, choose/refresh starttype - Automatic - go to the button start under status and click it so that the legend will say started.

Take a look in the dependencies it should say that remote procedure call should be running too, - check that.

Cheers

Hi friend! Thanks! I tried that before ,but it won't let me start. Remote procedure is started and it will let me stop or start it. PS It's nap time for this old bear. I'll catch up with you a little latter. Thank you my friend.==garybear

OK garybear

You must have some application that blocks it then.

Could you try finding which?

Hi garybear

First take a look at the settings in your scheduled tasks in the control panel.

Be sure that scheduled tasks is not stopped there!

Cheers

Hi garybear

What are your settings for scheduled tasks in SmartDefrag, in IS360 and in ASC?

Or in any other program that have that option?

Have you for example stopped scheduled tasks from running in ASC System Optimize?

If you get it repaired please remember that you may get that stopped setting back if you make a restore by an image from Macrium.

Try reading about it in Help&Support in your XP

Are you running it as administrator?

Are you using special security measures?

Cheers

Hi solbjerg!! Hey my good friend. Even a blind hop finds a acorn once in a while. I got lucky. I always say it's better to be lucky than good. Check out my screen shot good friend.I had to disable task scheduler, restart, and start profile#1.It was pure luck and very little skill. Maybe it will work now. Thanks friend!! garybear

Hi friend! Thanks! I did that once and had to change it all back where is was. Think I'll stay where I am at the moment. Might give it a shot latter. Now this is a joke, so please take it that way friend. The only reason you want me to go to Windows 7 is so I can be miserable like you are:lol::lol::lol::lol: Thanks for your support my friend, you are much appreciated!!

Hi sunny!

gary

w7 i think is far better, i would upgade our xp laptop to w7 if i could get the drivers. got to admit i was a big xp fan but since upgrading have been converted to w7 even has built in image backup.

Hi friend! I'll bet money the back up isn't as good as Macrium. I heard that Vista also had a back up and it proved to be a total disaster when Max used it. I'll have to give in some day, but for now I'm happy with my XP. Detailer wasn't that thrilled the last time I heard from him. He may have changed his mind by now. There are a lot of us XP users out there and Old Bill better think twice before he stops supporting XP. I just bought Macrium and there are a lot more bells and whistles on it. ==garybear

HI friend!

gary

glad to see your now at peace with your xp, we all have different opinions.

what do you like about the paid for version of macrium that the freebie did not have.

Hi friend!! There are a lot of things, A few are, you can copy only one file or one program and restore it instead of the whole image. It adds a boot feature that lets you boot to Macrium Recovery without a CD; which is cool if you have a lap top, and don't want to carry a Linux CD around all the time. It will fix your boot record if it should get corrupted. You can create a differential back up, which takes up less space and is faster to create. There are a lot more cool things, and I'm still learning about them.==garybear PS The free version is still cool and is all you really need!!

Hey garybear,

I've been pressing this issue for a long time and it looks like I've been talking to deaf ears. I don't have the time and do not want to put the effort into reporting problems to Iobit if they're not going to take it seriously. There is too many anti-malware/anti-virus products out there that are just as good if not better then IS360. And it's a shame to say that having a paid license for a product that's sitting on a shelf because of the negligence of the development team and Iobit as a whole is pure B@!!$!!+.. I will drop in on occasion to see if anything develops with this issue...

Hi DonnyD. I'm sorry I didn't enter the fight sooner. I did not use IObit for a period of time. I don't remember when that time was. There were several reasons, and I won't bring that up again. I have been with IObit for a very long time and I'm thoroughly pissed that there has been no response to this thread. I am a loyal member and a user of IObit programs. I'm very upset and hurt that I have been ignored by the IObit development team. I may be looking for a malware program myself. I have read all your posts about this, and I have experienced the same problems. I have blamed every thing but IObit 360 until now. I was cooling my heels and waiting for a response from IObit until now. I'm very hurt and very disappointed with the team at IObit and I not only expect an answer from IObit, but I'm demanding one. I'm thoroughly pissed. Thank you DonnyD for your support my friend!===garybear PS I'm very disappointed in you my friends at IObit and I'm very angry at this moment; but that will pass. I'm sure this will go on Google and will look bad but it maybe that's what needs to happen, and you will listen to your loyal members in the future. PS I'm sorry enoskype, but I'm in the bear mood!!

gary there was a time in the past when iobit staff would often come in with comments, but not seen too much of late, they may well visit each day but would be nice to have a reply from them on some posts.

Hi friend! Yes that would be nice since we as members take time to represent their programs to our members and expect nothing in return. We have the best forum in the world and the smartest people also, that want only to help others and to make new friends; ask for no pay, just a thank you now and then, and a new friend. I have made a lot of friends on this forum and I love my forum and my friends. I'm a little angry at the moment but that will pass. IObit needs to realize when people come to this forum and find the help and advice given freely by our members, that those people will buy their programs and become members them selves. ASC3 is the #1 down load on several sites, and members of this forum are the reason. Now I'll get off my stump. Thanks my good friend for your support of this thread.==garybear

Where are you???

Hi IObit development team. If you do a search about hogging memory, you will find a whole lot of posts about this subject. I myself have many posts about the subject. It's time for you to show your face, as I'm getting more angry by the minute. Here is a post by the smartest computer person in the world. Please notice the date and the promise that was made, and you have done nothing or said nothing. That is inexcusable my good friend IObit. I and many others have brought this to your attention and it's time to show up and explain. This has been causing me problems for a long time and I have blamed every one including Bill Gates. I now know the truth and I demand you show your face on this forum. Hi my friend DonnyD. I hope this makes up for my inexcusable absence on this subject. I'm no stranger to telling IObit how I feel and we have tangled several times in the past and I'm sure there will be more. I may not handle these situations the right way , but this is the bear way and I'm not backing down once again.===garybear grrrrrrrrrrrrrr
