config.ini location for new users?

I'm silently deploying 1.45 using an install script in an AD GPO.

The install goes fine.

I'm trying to find a place to put a custom config.ini that will get picked up to be used for a new user running SmartDefrag.

I tried putting the config.ini in both C:\Documents and Settings\Default User\Application Data\IObit\IObit SmartDefrag and the install dir C:\Program Files\IObit\IObit SmartDefrag.

But still the program creates its own default config.ini file from thin air instead.

 

Any help is appreciated.

Did you try putting config.ini file in:

 

C:\Documents and Settings\{User Name}\Application Data\IObit\IObit SmartDefrag

 

with read only alternative in XP, and

in:

 

C:\Users\{User Name}\AppData\Roaming\IObit\IObit SmartDefrag

 

with read only alternative in Vista and 7?

I can't put it under a specific username because it's installed under the "Computer Configuration" section of the GPO, not the "User Configuration".

Just an idea!:idea:

 

I am not an expert neither in MS's Active Directory Group Policy nor VBscripting, but perhaps a script can be written to deploy the config.ini file to each PC's targetted location.
