Human Interface Device problems and sound buttons

I have Human Interface Device UNCHECKED and yet it still disables my sound buttons. When I go back to normal mode, my sound buttons are STILL off. Using a laptop with Windows Vista. Help?

There are a few services for sound, one of them is XAudioservice check it or something related is disabled(If it is use msconfig to turn them back on)

 

Have you tried unplugging the sound device?(if your not using built in)

Additionally - it is quite easy to check the settings in your services yourself - just write services.msc in Run and check the items and the descriptions and the settings.
