IOBit Toolbox Registry Cleaner

Hello,

I am running an Acer Aspire 1640, Intel Core Duo E4700 @2.6GHz using Windows Vista sp2.

I have McAfee antivirus plus and updates and Windows Defender in place and they show no problems. I have occasional problems with slow running and get occasional error message "failed to recognise windows class". When I tried other free PC fix packages they identified 00's of registry errors but required a purchase to fix them. The IOBit Toolbox Registry Cleaner not only identified them but fixed them. I am unsure as to why I am generating lots of HKEY faults and would like to stop creating them rather than just fixing them. Does anybody know how to stop HKEY faults? I can try and post them to this thread if I can figure out how to do that and if that would help.

No more room here I will continue on the same thread. Thank you

IOBit Toolbox

Hello again,

I have noticed that when running Control>System information the little clock in the centre of the screen seems to run for ever although I can see the info behind it. I do not find this a problem but I offer this to help the developers.

I like this software and find the interface very easy to use and I have tried many that are available on the market and for free. If this is v1.0 I cant wait for v2.0.

McAfee will not comment on why I generate the HKEY errors as identified by IOBit registry cleaner in fact they ask me to remove any other antivirus programs before they will proceed with my query.

Sorry that this has been such a long post but I have tried to give as much information as I can.

Thank you for any help that you may offer

Hi john65black,

Did you mean even if you fix these HEKY faults, they will be regenerated again? If yes, please run hijack scan (If you have IObit Security 360 installed) and post reports here.

Hi,

The System Information tool does have this problem on a few computers. Our specialists are working hard on this issue now.

Thank you for your feedback.

HKEY problems

Hi Cicely,

since yesterday another 85 HKEY faults have been identified. I tried to cut and paste here but couldn't manage to to it so I am going to type them here. They all start with these numbers

HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1918655916-1162554905-1564638215-1000 and this is followed by the specific error

e.g. \Keyboard Layout\Toggle\

or \Software\Apple Inc\Apple Mobile Device support

or \Software\Microsoft\Media Player\Health

or \Software\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Trident\Settings

In each case the preceding number is the same with only the last part varying. I wonder why IOBit Reg Cleaner is showing all these faults and what I can do to stop the faults occuring.

Deep Reg Scan HKEY faults

Hi Cecily,

since yesterday I have accumulated another 77 HKEY faults all with the same preceding numbers as before. I have cleaned them out but suppose that I will have another 80 or so tomorrow.

I have had a trial period (now expired) of MS Office supplied by the OEM and I wonder if these HKEY faults relate to my failure to purchase the necessary licenses for Office.

I hope that I have supplied enough information to enable a solution to be found to this problem.

Thank you for your continuing help with this problem.

Deep scan reg HKEY problems

Hi Cecily,

only 121 HKEY problems cleared today. They still have the same numbers attached to them as before. I dont understand why I am generating so many faults, it would be better if I could prevent them occurring rather than fixing them.

Toolkit Registry Scan HKEY faults

Hi Cicely,

no HKEY faults today I have ran the IOBit S360 Hijack Scan again today and have posted the results below. I have not modified any of the findings as the all look ok to me.

Thanks for your continuing help with this

IOBit Toolbox Deep Reg Scan HKEY Faults

Hi Cicely,

I have discovered an RRR File folder in my personal folder with the same numbers as I find in my HKEY faults i.e. s-1-5-21-1918655916-1162554905-1564638215-1000.rrr.

It would be too much of a coincidence if this were not linked to my registry problems. So far I have done nothing other than identify the file. I would appreciate any advice that you can offer me on this discovery.

Thank you for your help.

Hi john

My guess is that the file extension stands for Resource Recovery and Recycling.

As far as I know it is at least used by Registry Mechanic.

You know of course that registry items are being created during normal operation in the computer - some of those items are not essential after their use and is therefore singled out for deletion by the registry cleaner.

Many of those can then be created again during operation and will then be found again and deleted.

Do you have Registry Mechanic installed - or have you had it installed?

Cheers

IOBit Toolbox Registry Cleaner

Hi Solbjerg,

I think that I may have had Registry Mechanic installed as a test some months ago but it is difficult to remember. In any case it is not installed now. The file has now been deleted.

Thanks

IOBit Toolbox Registry Cleaner

Hi Solbjerg,

another thing I have noticed about the Registry Cleaner is that the Help(H) option in the top left hand corner of the screen, when selected, seems to lead nowhere. This is not too much of a problem for me as I can seek help here.

I cleaned another 94 HKEY faults last night but so far there have been none today. If you look at the earlier posts you will see that Cicely asked me to post S360 Hijack scans here. I have done that twice but removed nothing as yet.

Thanks for your help.

Hi John

I am sorry - I do not have the newest version yet - I will download it and then take a look - in the meantime someone else may have a comment on that Help :-)

I have been transporting my firewood into my barn today and have therefore not had much time to spare, sorry!

Cheers

Hi John

I have now found the Help (H) you were referring to - and you are right - it doesn't take you anywhere.

My guess is that the Help file isn't compiled yet - I know at least that I haven't yet written a description in Usage of IObit Products of the Toolbox. :-)

I thought I would try to do so after I had translated the English language file into Danish, but it is quite a job and lately I haven't had much time for it.

After it has been described, the Help (H) could possibly be set to link to Usage of IObit Products.

Please bear with me or perhaps IObit will compile a Help file before I get around to it :-)

Cheers

IOBit Toolbox Deep Reg Scan HKEY Faults

Hi people,

I am still getting loads of HKEY faults 3263 since I downloaded the Toolbox. Can anyone tell me why I am getting these faults and why the preceding number is the same each time.

I have had a computer health check and the tech guy said that his utilities could find nothing wrong with the system. He tried CKScanner, Malwarebytes and ESET that is in addition to me having McAfee antivirus and firewall and Windows Defender in place all along.

I have decided to stop clearing these faults to see what happens as it cannot be normal practice to identify and clear 00's of reg faults per day. There has to be a reason for this and I cannot think why this is happening.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer help.

Hi john65black,

Please take a screen shot of the deep scan result and try to show full information in the screen shots. Then I will forward it to our specialists for clear investigating.

IOBit Toolbox v1.1

Hi everybody I have upgraded to v1.1 and it does not show the HKEY faults that v1.0 shows. I will continue to use it and see what happens. I have not yet heard from the technical team to which Cicely referred the problem but I hope that they have incorporated a fix to my original problem.
