Relabel Drives

Ted

Recommended Posts

Hi, All,

The first vacant drive spot on my PC is G: so I relabeled my Free Agent Drive to G: I also have another Seagate desktop extension drive which I labeled as H: This works fine providing both drives are conected , but if I remove the Free Agent drive my desktop extension drive reverts to G: Would it be wiser to name each drive G:?

Would it be wiser to name each drive G ?? ohh i don't know....perhaps not?

hi all

what is a good idea? naming the drive for what its for ? or used for..

what happens to you ted also happens to me..depending whats plugged in.7 drives can get confusing at the odd times.so i name them.

c:\main©

d:\allinbounds(d)

e:\tiny(E)

g:my usb store(G)

and so on now when i do a re image depending to what drive

say c:Main or tiny e: i know for sure where to...

oh as you are aware a format renames it back to the drive letter..

just say doing a fast format..that i do after shifting all files..mostly my inbound drive...
