ISD Beta 4.02 - Free space not being defragged

Maybe I am confused. Is ISD beta 4.02 supposed to defrag the disk free space? I have run "Defrag Now" about a dozen times on my hard drive with little change in the locations of the "free space" blocks. Basically, they are scattered all over the hard drive.

 

I am running XP build 5.01, SP2 with all patches. I have an IBM Thinkpad R51 laptop with a 30 GB hard drive with about 5.5 GB free space.

 

Any thoughts??

Forgot to mention. Using FAT32 file system. Also, I used the "defrag and optimize" option.

I'd think your problem is using FAT32. Go to NTFS and you may find your problems start to go away.
