Does GB 2 overheat ur pc?

Hi ace

How long since you cleaned it? Situated in a spotlessly clean environment? :-)

Be very careful fastening the cooler-fans after you have cleaned them, they cause havoc if they fall off - new motherboard is almost certain.

Probably isn't the GB in itself that causes the computer to overheat, - you only use it I expect when playing games - and then I think it is the amount of the resources used for this that makes the computer increase it's temperature?

Cheers

ive been noticing lately that GB2 will make my CPU overheat. I`ve been playing LOTR and it usually runs at 42 Celsius but lately it will jump to 46. I`m not sure if this is a bug or what. Anyone else having this problem?

Well I did clean it out last night was full of lil dust bunnies. But after i cleaned out all the dust, it would still go to about 44. Its saying its 38 right now but after i turn on gb it always seems to up the temp.

I also have a nice fan turned on high in front of my pc blowing air into it.

The game i play now LOTR online, isnt as much as a resource hog as my other game bad company 2. I was playing it for along time using the last version of GB and the top temp would only hit 42.

Hi ace

Did you clean the cpu cooler fan totally? Not very easy to do unless you dismantle it, and then my former warning applies.

If you run the computer with an open side - does the temperature then rise?

Yes I clean out the CPU cooler fan with Q-Tips, it took me awhile but i got them all out. My old pc had tiny opening but was a extra large CPU cooler fans that had large copper tubes running out like a exhaust. But the newer one im running has a opening so the dust collects in a small indention under the fan.

I also then removed both of my video cards and removed there dust, cleaned my battery fan, then the other 4 fans my pc came equipped with. I have 2 slots opened above my other 2 drives, also have a slot opened above my hd slot. On my tower box there is a large metal grate opened, its about 6 inches long and 4 inches wide and is cut like a triangle.

My fan that i have blowing in has a high output and its about 2 foot round, that i let blow in front of my drives on high. So yea my pc usually stays 38 and when the ac is running around 35. Also have my CPU oc at 2.97 ghz and it is a AMD athlon 64 x2 5200+. I have had it oc for along time before the new gb and didnt see temp problems.

Any temperature below 62c is fine especially with only a mere fan on the CPU. This is the standard limit for AMD chips at their max range. So being at 48 isn't bad. Also using an outside fan to blow into the system is a rather bad idea as those collect dust heavily and then throw it into the system. Attempt to keep it clean, I am presuming you don't have case fans in that case?
