You probably all know these lines from the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge:

 

Water, water, everywhere,

And all the boards did shrink;

Water, water, everywhere,

Nor any drop to drink. :-)

 

A lot of interpretations have been put forth for this ballad but I have always seen it as a gentle reminder/admonition to the wedding guest about the institution of marriage. :-)
