Misleading.MySecurityShield [SOLVED by db 1941]

Recommended Posts

IO360 claims to have identified this in file C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts. This is a plain text file, content included below. When trying tio upload the scan log, the attachment window kept declaring that it was an Invalid File, so I have included that below as well.

Hosts file:

# Copyright © 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.

#

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.

#

# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each

# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should

# be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.

# The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one

# space.

#

# Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual

# lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.

#

# For example:

#

# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server

# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

127.0.0.1 localhost

HP00163551CECE HP00163551CECE

Misleading.MySecurityShield, File, C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, 4-31141

I was unable to open the file, my computer said that it doesn't exist [i didn't remove it]. I have my files/folders set to show all files even hidden files, and I still could not find it to run the scan you usually ask for. :-?

Hope someone can download the file, scan it and and send you the results so you can fix this.

;-) You fixed the last false positive very quickly. :-D

Re: Misleading.MySecurityShield [sOLVED by db 1941]" update

It was not in my quarantine list.

This is frustrating. How am I to run the scans to help you fix these errors?

Just report them I guess.

Again you guys fixed it quickly. IObit rocks!

Hi wagygirl,

You have to check the checkbox below to put and see the malware found in quarantine list after scan and hitting Remove and Finish buttons.

Click Options=>Options window=>Scan=>Scan Settings=>Scan Parameters=>check the checkbox of Quarantine treats when removing them=>click Apply button=click OK button

Cheers.
