Genius Loci Is Protecting The Forum!

A silly question.

Human or machine? (GENIUS LOCI IS PROTECTING THE FORUM!)

Hi,

I would like to propose a new rule, as to pasting links ANY:

http://forums.iobit.com/ ~this is a not allowed.

This could be allowed as shown below.

***://forums.iobit.com/ ~ must be done this way..

Reason: Safer and stops any linking from the forum.

Only links that deal with IOBIT products are allowed.

Mr. Bean, taking into consideration the profile information, at three years of age, can it be human? Otherwise, he must be really a genius on top of being genius loci!!! :-P

I really can't understand the safety of delinking the thread/post addresses in IObit Forum.

I do understand the need of it for 3rd party addresses and specifically direct download links, but please enlighten us for the need of IObit forum links.

Cheers.

Hi,

It was a sample link (safe)http://forums.iobit.com/ .

The sample link posted one you click on and it takes you to the site from the forum itself, then back here.

The other you need to add the HTTP copy past to the browser.

If I suggest a site, any, it would be posted as @@@://.bola bola .com

or ***://.bola bola .com

This way the new rule added for every one, make this safer? (perhaps help stop rouge links?) I don't know.

Perhaps assist, to stop linking from here outwards.

What you think? No no good?

You asked : "Please enlighten us for the need of IObit forum links."

The need NONE, but to promote products, draw attention to them.

Well, as in updates, or where one can download a new version, or related links that a member has come across information, and so on.

As for the need, the post them NONE at all ,just a name of a product would be plenty, than easy Googled.

So, if I were posting on comodo, that would be plenty, no link needed. Enter that in a search bar and of you go.

What you think?

Hi Mr Bean

Yes I understood that you used it as an example.

You know my stand in the matter - I have advocated that for a long time, and with a náhkôhe'šeme (bear growling) former member it is perhaps even more necessary - he is not to be trusted - lying all the time.

Cheers

I do not want to single any one out.

You ..and 99% of members do.

if I or any one click on a posted ( http// link ) its live.

this is what I proposed could be banned. and removed

.Reason already posted.

refer to the first post as to how one would do this, posting a link. This way thy are only accessible by the copy and past meted the whole idea.

not to hard for a poster to do.

POST LIKE SO:

***// link (just edit out) the HttP//.the rest would be the link only posted

and the risk is lessen by the user.clicking g on them..

plus saves the admins having to chase them .

.I know of forums that flat out allow no posted link's of any kind thy say stops a lot of spam and advertising.

lets be honest If YOU or I were talking on a soft ware product. LETS just say comodo ,or Norton, not hard to work out how to find it.

by typing this word in your or my search bar.
