Hi,

Boot CD with OS-->run "Recovery console". Service: Schedule and smartdefragdriver --> turn off (value DISABLE). Reboot and stop feature "Boot time defrag".

It may be necessary in "Recovery console" rename all files chkdsk.exe(C:\WINDOWS\system32\chkdsk.exe and C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllcache\chkdsk.exe; example chkdsk.exe1) and all files chkntfs.exe ( the same folders ).

Uninstall IObit SmartDefrag, clean registry a back rename these files.

Reboot.

I can write a description in Czech language for google translator. I did this activity on XP.

Damned

Hi Toppack,

At scheduled task "Boot time defrag" -->Settings:

-Defragment Page file, Hibernate file

-Defragment MFT

-Defragment System files

situation occurs, the system will not boot, but still check the disk (chkdsk).

Perform the check disk and again restart for check disk.

Can anyone Explain what happened?

I don't understand what caused that problem ?

Hi Toppack

No problem I think - you must have ticked both the boot time defrag and the chkdsk option, and the chkdsk is I think the chkdsk /f option which only runs after a restart of the computer.

Please check your settings!

Cheers

solbjerg

p.s. I prefer to run the chkdsk through the normal Windows option with both options ticked about once every month or two or three.

Yes, I've never tried running chkdsk from SD, always from 'Run' line, so if I ever wanted to do that I was curious what he or she did Wrong, if anything.

I still don't completely understand what and why that happened to their computer, but I'll try it someday.

yes i ticked option "run chkdsk before next boot time defrag"

but when i reboot the system ,chkdsk did not run before boot time defrag

Sure sounds like a Problem with 2-Beta :!:

Has anyone else tried the 'chkdsk' Option with latest 2-Beta version :?:
