Is Smartdefrag spying on us?

Hello,

 

I have noticed that Smartdefrag establishes a TCP connection on local port 1212. The remote port is 80 and the IP number is 75.126.209.241.

 

Since I can't figure out why this is necessary in order to defrag my hard drive, I regard this as spying.

You may have noticed that the right panel of ISD is for news and ads like in AWC.

 

When ISD is started, it tries to connect to: http://www.iobit.com/SmartDefrag/info-isd.html to get the current info from iobitlive com.

When it is a question it is OK, but when you regard this as spying, it is a bit unfare to IObit.

 

There was Urchintracker in that html page a while ago, which is to count the hits of a web page and harmless, they have even taken that out.

 

Now, may I ask you to reconsider it if it is spying.
