Disc Defrag

Hi,

 

I'm running ASC Pro and am very happy with it, however, when running disc defrag it is very very slow. Is this usual?, as before when using disc defrag on the free version of ASC it was much quicker. I know with the pro version it does a deeper scan, but I wouldn't think it would be at a snails pace slow.

 

Any thoughts?

Do you have SmartDefrag installed too?

I do and do not feel it takes very long, - what level of fragmentation have you chosen to start the defrag at?

If it is very fragmented it will of course take longer to defragment and if you have also chosen that it should optimize the placement of the files it will take even longer. Depending upon the size of your disc and the amount of free space (minimum 15%)
