Ditch the Google Ads please!

I noticed "ErrorSmart" in the Google ads at the top of the forum pages. This is just one of dozens/scores/hundreds/thousands of examples of scumware. Iobit is clearly 100% trustworthy so why carry ads for these dodgy vendors? Google has been completely hijacked by spyware/adware/malware suppliers and it takes some real clued-up searching to find good software utilities these days. Glad I found Iobit though. Frankly, most sites seems to carry these Google ads, presumably to try and generate revenue, but they do nothing for the reputations of the website owners.

I use the free IE7pro software on IE7 do not see any ads.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have a policy of not installing BHOs for security reasons (paranoia?). Having found the URLs for the Google ad servers, I have simply added them to my HOSTS file and the ads no longer appear on any web pages. If anyone else wants to know how to do this, reply to this thread and I will post up the full solution.

If anyone is suffering from in-game ads served by Massive, I have those urls and IP addresses as well.
