ASCv4 disables TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper :-(

Sooo, in trying to convince my managers to purchase ASCv4 for our company, I have shown them just how great a product it is... Until it starts kicking our machines off the domain or preventing access to network drives!!!

Without wasting time with the detective work, here's the "fix" (read: work-around, until ASCv4 stops breaking otherwise greatly-tweaked machines!!)

 

1) In Device manager > Network Adapters > Power Management tab of the Properties of the network card , *uncheck* "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

2) In the Computer Services, Enable and Start the "TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper" service.

 

Reboot may be necessary for all functionality to return...
