This program is great, but missing an essential feature

Recommended Posts

Very impressed with the beta so far but it's missing a very basic and important feature.

I should be able to create a shortcut that performs the same functionality as right clicking an .exe and choosing "Run with Game Booster".

I prefer to run games/programs directly from my Windows 7 taskbar and the pinned icons don't have the "Run with Game Booster" option.

Having to show my desktop, then right click the shortcut, then click "Run with Game Booster" takes the "coolness" out of using this program, when I'd prefer to just click the icon pinned to my taskbar to start my game with Game Booster.

It kind of feels like having to do a little dance in front of the fridge just because I want to make a sandwich, if you get the analogy. ;-)

I hope you guys will consider implementing some kind of "create game shortcut" feature.

This is actually a very good idea. Add a "Run with Gamebooster" to the context menu (put as an installation option perhaps in "Advanced Installation" or "Custom Installation" so it's not set by default, yet still gives users to add Gamebooster options to the Right-Click Context Menu.

Very good suggestion and +1 Vote for this from me :)

Uhh... There's already a "run with gamebooster" option in the context menu. My point is that it's not enough.

You should be able to either add a text command to a game's shortcut or have the program do it automatically for whatever programs you choose beforehand, so you can just click the icon that's pinned to your taskbar and run it with gamebooster.

found it!

i've just registered but been searching for a solution for over a week or so. Context menu editors, registery integrations, scripting with shortcuts, etc... you name it. Yet, the answer was right infront of me this whole time. srsly.

Right click on a shortcut and select 'run with gamebooster'. Windows UAC is going to prompt for admin permission. Before cliking yes/no, select the "more information" section; There you can see the shortcut adress you've been looking for. Now, create a shortcut with this adress and we're all good to go =)

longstory short; shortcut adress should be something similar to this;

"c:\...\Game Booster\gbtray.exe" -quicklauncher "x:\...*.exe" *

so here is an example of my shorcut

a shortcut for my non-steam game which will run with gamebooster ;

"C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\Game Booster\gbtray.exe" -quicklauncher "D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" steam://rungameid/11584935228791062528

runs perfectly well for steam-nonsteam games or any other application you would prefer. you can pin this shortcut to the taskbar aswell or do what ever you want with it.

i hope this will work for all of you. gb3 rocks \m/
