Need help with understanding "Internet booster" right..

Recommended Posts

(1) I dont understand how to translate my speed result in Mbit

to bandwidth sliders into either Mgp? or Gbps values

(see the attachment)

I need the translation value directly from someone else,

cause i cant count no matter what explanation in words i will get

(2) Otherwise i need to uninstall the entire Advanced system

care program installation..just to reset the bandwidth to

before ever tested the "Internet booster" tool,

cause it doesn't resets this value!! just as it re setts all

value changes you've made by clicking restore successfully

The problem is that Internet may have started to appear

this sluggish as it does now! after i setted it to 1 Gb it feels!

It certainty wont improve by going backwards to something even slower,

thats why i need to uninstall or get to know what my supposed

value should be

(3) The program doesn't make clear..whether 1 click on restore

will undo all changes ever made within all 4 Firefox optimize

windows? or one new click on restore for each three?

(4) Is it correct that the "bandwidth"slider

need to be setted somewhat accurate to reality

for the "recommended" click within "firefox optimize"

rather islow down surfing speed instead of opposite..:?

cause that was my experience until i tested press

"restore"..then the apartment line speed returned

but as i said ..the slider is still possible wrong for me? you tell me!..

cause Firefox is still to slow and crash more and more

Hi Kloppstock,

Mbit/s=Mbps (Megabits per second)

Gbit/s=Gbps (Gigabits per second)

You won't be far away from the optimum value if you choose 10M (10Mbps=10Mbit/s =>> close to your 12.65 Mbit/s) speed for slider for your checked speed as 29 miliseconds ping time indicates a very close server that your speed is checked.

You can try 50M and see which one is better.

Restore will make all changes return back to the values before Internet Booster is used, since they are all changes in the registry, restore writes the old values to the registry whatever they were before.

Where ever the slider or the options are, do not effect the values untill Applied.

For examples of TCP Optimization in XP, please read this thread and this thread, but since you use Win 7, some of it is not applicable to you.

Cheers.

then my bandwidth concerns is solved, thanks for that!

yes optimize Firefox is the only tweaks i have access to..

but i still need guidance there

Im clicking "restore" for safety sake now, but every box inside

network/

browser/

content/

others/

are still ticked afterwards...i have a vague memory of not all boxes were ticked originally? can you confirm or decline that?.

And when i click "recommended" i dont get any

other tick/untick suggestions than the "restoration" click gives you

im getting wery suspicious by that!.

Do i perhaps need to restart windows 7 after doing any re-apply/restore inside Internet booster to notice whatever effect? or will it have direct effect?

..as long as Firefox are closed down between every new change??

First time i tested "optimize firefox" combined with that 1G band value 8:)

i never clicked "recommend" i just did go through each box manually, but i also ticked basically everything..excluded some tweaks that would disable visible items inside the browser

that sounded bad for my taste.

The surfing and download result after optimization

decreased allot as i said before..

So either its he band that was slided a bit to high lol..

or its the the fact that i didn't tick all Firefox tweaks

...that were responsible for the slowdown..or my computer

is incompatible for this tool for either reason?

What would you suspect?

Can you currently anyhow recommend  me using "recommended" button to optimize Firefox combined with setting 10/50M first?

As far as I remember they were all ticked when you install the software.

Recommended is all ticked.

When you use Restore it will change the current values in real use but not the ticks and recommended view of the GUI.

Since some of the changes in Registry needs restart of Windows, it is advisable to restart Windows after Optimize or after Restore.

I would suspect the wrong slider postion.

YES, for the use of "Recommended" button combined with 10/50M slider values.

Cheers.
