MSE & CCleaner Conflect ?

Toppack

Recommended Posts

I seem to be having a conflect with the latest version of CCleaner and MSE.

I'm constantly getting Event-errors related to the MSE file named MSESysprep.dll and I think it's CCleaner that is causing it, but I'm not sure.

The errors started about same time as I downloaded latest CCleaner version.

Has anyone else encountered these errors or know anything about what causes them, with that .dll file?

Thanks,

Hi Toppack

I just downloaded the newest version and checked if it changed any settings.

As far as I noticed by me it didn't.

No mishaps by me yet!

I only run it once in a while and almost always only the registry clean.

I use ASC for the "normal" cleanup and I am a little wary with using more than one cleaning program - and never use automatic function for this either.

Cheers

solbjerg

p.s. it doesn't look like I have the said file on my computer even though I also use MSE - my OS is XP sp.3 though

Thanks for the Info.

I'm sure that (c:\program files\microsoft security client\MSESysprep.dll) is a real W-7 file, I'm just not sure what is conflicting with it ???

I found 'sidebyside' entries in registry but can not delete them, for some reason.

I'm now pretty sure it's Not CCleaner causing it.

I managed to fix this conflect by Editing the Registry and then ran IObit ASC Registry-deep-clean.

I'm still not sure where those 'sidebyside' entries came from?

I just hope that I did Not delete Too Much, since there were 6 entries with that name.

seen on other forums the same problem, this week. solved by running ccleaner again in safemode and it fixes the glitch

Thanks for the Info.

I've not tried CCleaner again yet, but when I do and if I get the problem again,

I'll try that.

Yes, I think I'll use ASC only on that computer.

No use taking a chance, running CCleaner, until I know for sure what is causing the Event-errors.

I found a little Batch-file program that clears All Event-logs,

at same time, so you don't have to clear (empty) each one separately.

It clears the 'System-log', the 'Powershell-log' and the 'Remote Desktop Services-log'.

So, it will look like a fresh Windows Install.

If anyone is interested in having it, I can attach it here, to be downloaded?

Just let me know ?
