Powershell_ISE Scripts

Toppack

Recommended Posts

I've been trying to learn how to write simple Script programs,

using Powershell_ISE, that comes with W-7.

And was wondering if anyone here has used the ISE GUI expansion of Powershell?

(Powershell is text only, like CMD)

I've been learning the 'Get' commands, etc. but now I'm wondering about what Good things can be done with these Scripts?

Anyone have any suggestions?

BTW - For those that don't know, Powershell is an very expanded version of the old Command-prompt utility, that is part of all Windows versions.

I found that All the old command-line commands still work in PS, like chkdsk and sfc.

(Still have to run it as Admin also, for those 2 to work)

Here's some great Info about Powershell:

I'm still trying to figure out something good to do with it though???

I found a good book that answers many of my question about PowerShell-2.

I think it would be great Fun trying to write Scripts in that very versitile language.

What I need now is another computer, so I can dedicate one just to learning PS-2 & ISE,

since I can see that it would be very easy to distroy the OS or Registry with a simple mistake.

Don't Worry IObit, I'll only be writing programs for my Own use.

I need another Hobby, I just hope I live Long enough to Learn it. ;-)

Since I now have a computer dedicated to writing PowerShell scripts,

I think I need to get another compiler (converter) program,

for converting them to .exe programs?

The one I've found recommened on several websites, to do PS-2 scripts,

is a program-package called 'Primalscript' which is also an editor and cost $300.

I definitely don't want to buy that one,

so I'm hopeing someone knows of a much less expenive converter program ???

Thanks for any suggestions.
