Installation Issue

I just downloaded Advanced SystemCare V4.

 

When I try to install the product, I get at about 80% this error message:

 

 

C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\Advanced SystemCare 4\Sur12_DiskDoctor.exe

An error occurred while trying to rename a file in the destination directory:

 

MoveFile failed; code 2.

The system cannot find the file specified.

 

Click retry to try again, Ignore to skip this file (not recommended), or Abort to cancel installation.

 

Win7 64bit - No Servicepack

4 GB RAM

500 GB HDD / 50GB free

Intel CPU i7 vPro Core

Don't have any other issues with any other software

 

 

 

 

Hitting retry does nothing. I tried re-downloading the install file, same issue, same error.

 

Tried running the install as administrator

Tried cleaning my registry

Deleted all temp files

Tried again, same result. The installer just won't install on my system.

 

Any advice?

Hi Cadwalader, welcome to IObit Forum! :-D

 

Did you already have Advanced SysytemCare 4 folder before installation?

 

If you had it, make sure that it is empty or at least Sur12_DiskDoctor.exe file is not there.

 

If you can not delete Sur12_DiskDoctor.exe, use IObit Unlocker 1.0 downloadable from IObit Unlocker 1.0 is released! thread to unlock and delete.

 

I would recommend a clean re-install as described in Clean Install .

I remember seeing another question about the 'MoveFile failed; code 2' message, on another website.

I think it had something to do with the Security program they were running.

So, there may be a conflect (or false-positive)with your virus checker software.

(I don't remember which Security program they had though)

Another thought:

I wonder if it is trying to download Version-5, as an Update,

over version-4, if v-4 is set to check-for and download updates Automaticly.

That might get that error message?

Deactivating the realtime security softwares during installation may help in that case.

Version 4.0 Update

Welcome to the forum :smile:

 

Go HERE and click on one of the download buttons in the first post.

After downloading double click on the Advanced SystemCare installer (Setup File). The Setup File is for both FREE and PRO editions

There is no need to uninstall the old version just install the new version 4 over the top
