Hello xxxxxxxxxxx,

Thanks for getting back to us.

After confirming with our engineer, we'd like to let you know that the size of one real-time log does not expand 100KB. The new entries will be cover the old ones if the size of the real-time log is up to 100KB. Thanks for your understanding.

We appreciate your support to IObit.

Hopefully this will be fixed. Right now this problem makes the logs pretty useless as the file size limits total real-time scan records in the real-time scan log to about 1,315 give or take.

On top of that resetting the stats in the GUI does not start a new real-time log. You have to shut down IMF and then relaunch it or reboot to start a new real-time log. Support is also aware of this problem.

Hi Buddahfan,

This is not a bug but a default setting. 100 KB is enough to save the latest scan log. Saving all the old scan logs is a waste of your valuable space.

"On top of that resetting the stats in the GUI does not start a new real-time log. You have to shut down IMF and then relaunch it or reboot to start a new real-time log." is a program bug and we have forwarded it to our engineers to solve it.

Hello xxxx,

Thanks for getting back to us.

Sorry if we have confused you. The reason why the size of one real-time log does not expand 100KB and resetting the stats in the GUI does not start a new real-time log is to save much more space for your computer. However, we have forward your concern to IObit Product Specialist Team for further consideration. Thanks for your understanding.

You are correct that It is definitely not a bug in the program. However, IMO it along with some other problems with the log which I have communicated to IObit Support about make the real-time log pretty useless.

Also, I never said it was a bug. I said it was problem. Just for the record. I used to design and implement computer systems for some large public corporations. When I use the term "problem" regarding a program I am referring to what I consider a bad design and not a programming bug.

Here is my abridged response this AM UTC/GMT -7 to IObit

Regarding space.

Let the file expand

Start a new log file when the GUI stats are reset

Put an option in the "Settings" i.e. "More" to allow a person to

1. a. Show only blocked items in the log by default

b. or show all items scanned in the log

2. Determine the number of days to keep the log files on their disk. Use something like 10 days as the default.
